2008 Lobby Days for Northern Uganda

On February 24th-26th, 2008, Resolve and our partner Invisible Children hosted Lobby Days for Northern Uganda, a lobbying event held in Washington, DC and corresponding national call-in day. Over 800 American citizens from around the country converged on our nation’s capital seeking further US engagement in the Juba Peace Negotiations. The event focused on obtaining Congressional support for a letter to the U.N. Secretary General calling for this sustained engagement and an increase in U.N.-led recovery efforts on the ground in northern Uganda.
23 Senators and 16 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives signed the letter, which was delivered to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon shortly thereafter. Before How It Ends was held the following year, the event was the largest US lobby day ever focused on Africa.
